Here’s the new entry in my reading list and on Project Prosperity Bookshop, a book that I recommend as a Christmas present for yourself, your friends and family, a precious gift to start the new year with fresh and empowering energy: “Crazy Sexy Kitchen: 150 Plant-Empowered Recipes to Ignite a Mouthwatering Revolution” by Kris Carr.
For those of you who do not know Kris, she is a beautiful lady who in 2003 was diagnosed a very rare form of cancer. That was a true wake-up call for Kris and this is what she says about it: “My wake-up call encouraged me to make a total lifestyle upgrade inside and out. It taught me how to listen to my brilliant inner guide, brought me back to nature (my church), the garden and kitchen (my pharmacies), and connected me more deeply with the people and animals who set my heart ablaze. I learned that a nutrient dense, plant-passionate diet rules, the Standard American Diet destroys (everything), stress sucks (all life-force), exercise is non-negotiable (great for your head, heart, cells and ass-ets), joy is utterly contagious, and having fun must be taken very seriously.”
Her life journey inspired her five books and a film documentary “Happy Sexy Cancer” that’s been aired on TLC and The Oprah Winfrey Network: OWN.
“Crazy Sexy Kitchen” is more than just a cookbook: it’s organized in courses: the first course is an overview of the Crazy Sexy Diet (raw food is the main foundation of the diet). The second and third courses are mini-cooking classes (for those of us who are not real experts in the kitchen ;-)). The fourth course is where the recipes are found and include sample menus:
